Elena has returned to the West Country from New Zealand, where she had lived and practiced as a counsellor for five years, and is starting up her counselling practice once again.
Over the last 20 years she has worked in a variety of settings, including many years work particularly within the fields of addictions and sexuality. She has also worked in a school as a counsellor for young people.
Whilst in NZ, she qualified as a sex therapist, and is keen to continue her work with couples here.
She also offers clinical supervision to other counsellors, and has been an external supervisor to many voluntary sector organisations.
“I believe that all of us have the capacity to change, to heal and to know what is best for us. However, sometimes we can lose sight of this, and can get stuck in old behaviours, thoughts and beliefs that are unhelpful to us. Counselling can provide the space, time and support to look at our feelings, beliefs and options, in order to make things better for ourselves.
I work from a client-centred perspective, using a variety of approaches, developed over my 20 years of practice. “
“As a sex therapist, I work with couples to allow both partners to gain a more fulfilling sexual relationship. This can involve looking at both the physical and emotional aspects of relationships, and is best done with both people, if currently in a relationship. I welcome working with same sex couples. “
“I offer a free introductory half hour, for you to meet me, and see whether I am someone with whom you feel comfortable enough to explore your issues. “
Prices
Individual counselling - £35 per hour
Reduced rate for voluntary sector employees/low waged and unemployed - £25 per hour
Couples - £45 per hour.
